Notes From the Golden Globes

33_hudgens_efron.jpgWatching The Golden Globes and the Red Carpet event before it tonight, I just had some random notes, some thing I felt these people were definitely in need of knowing, or specific questions I had for them.

Note to Zac Efron: Were you in my dad’s medicine chest today? It looks like you got into that leftover bottle of Vitalis he still has hanging around.

Note to Peter Gabriel: I’d rather listen to you sing than talk. Next time you’re being interviewed, just break out in song.

Note to Amanda Seyfried of Mamma Mia: Was that duct tape hanging off your shoulder? I have no idea what you were talking about as you were being interviewed. I couldn’t take my mind off that tape.

Note to Sigourney Weaver: When standing next to Nancy O’Dell and Beyoncé, you looked like an Amazon. I just never realized how tall you were before, or how short they were.

Note to Sting: I didn’t even recognize you at first with the dark hair. Nevertheless, I think it suits you very well. Read more »

Hola! Happy Cinco de Mayo! And a beautiful day it is, with the sun shining with a nice warm glow. There’s no rain in sight until at least tomorrow, and I think we might finally be done with snow. Okay, so I knocked on my hutch after that. I guess you never can tell with that weather we’ve been having lately. Hopefully with that behind us now, let’s dish a little.

Redneck Woman
no more! Country singer Gretchen Wilson, despite being extremely successful as a Grammy winner, decided to go back to school. At 34 years old, the Tennessean pursued her G.E.D. and will attend her graduation ceremony on May 15th. Previously dropping out as a Freshman Wilson decided she didn’t want her daughter to think you can normally be a success without an education. I have to send some kudos out for this. I’m hoping she’ll inspire some kids to stay in school or others to follow suit and get their own G.E.D.

Maybe she could be mentoring other young singers. I just don’t know what to think of Miley Cyrus these days. I keep wanting to think the rumors and innuendos just aren’t true. Looking at her Vanity Fair photos, I have mixed feelings. They’re certainly simulating a sexy image, but should we be letting a young girl think it’s not okay to be proud of her body and who she is? She didn’t expose anything other than a little skin. Although in some of them, they make her look younger than she is, and it reminded me of Brooke Shields in Pretty Baby. I’m still not ready to condemn the girl just yet, but I do think I need to issue out a warning to Billy Ray to watch his daughter very closely so that she doesn’t join the ranks of Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan. Alright, so it’s been a few days since I updated the gossip here. I was just sitting around feeling sorry for myself, wishing for some caffeine. Since the Great Caffeine Fairy didn’t show up, I decided it was just time to get my ass in gear anyway, still sans caffeine. So let’s get back into it, and dish a little.

Do you think it would be possible just to let Anna Nicole Smith and her son, Daniel, rest in peace? It’s a year since she was found dead and a year and a half since he was found dead, yet, after fighting and fighting and fighting over her daughter and with whom she and her inherited fortune should reside, we’re now back to trying to figure out how Daniel died. Ex-boyfriend to Anna, Larry Birkhead, told a jury he knows she once gave Daniel an Ecstasy pill, despite having concerns about his drinking and drugs and consequent weight loss. It’s time for everyone to realize nothing that has anything to do with Anna, her boyfriends, old husbands, or children are ever going to make sense. Leave them all alone, and let’s move on.

Moving on with less money than she wanted is Heather Mills. While the divorce settlement of $48.6 million seems like an amount that would set us all up with easy living for the rest of our lives, it’s not even close to what she wanted. She wanted $250 million of McCartney’s total wealth of $800 million, so not quite a third. The judge in the case felt the amount she was asking for was “unreasonable” and “exorbitant.” He also referred to her as “less than candid.” After this ruling, Mills sought to keep the resolution blocked from publication, as she thought it would potentially harm her 4-year-old daughter. Was she afraid Beatrice would find her mum to be a golddigger? Read more »
